Repronex® Instruction Video: Click to Watch

What is Repronex®?
Repronex® is a medication known as a menotropin, or human menopausal gonadotropin. It may be used in combination with other fertility hormones, such as human chorionic gonadotropin, to induce, or stimulate ovulation in women with certain types of ovarian failure or in women undergoing an assisted reproductive technology (ART). May also be used to treat hypogonadism caused by a pituitary gland deficiency in a man.

How Do I Use Repronex®?
Here are step-by-step instructions for taking Repronex® (menotropin) injections:

Wash your hands thoroughly and make sure the surface you work on is clean.

Snap off the protective caps from the tops of the bottles. Clean the rubber stoppers of the bottles with an alcohol swab.

Pull back on the plunger to the 1 cc mark of a new, 1½ inch syringe.

Inject the liquid diluent bottle with 1 cc of air.

Invert the vial and draw back 1cc of the liquid diluent. Remove the needle from the vial.

Pierce the rubber stopper of the vial filled with the Repronex® powder. Slowly inject the diluent into the bottle containing the medication. The powder will dissolve instantly and become clear. Repeat the process with additional vials as needed.

Keeping the needle in the vial, invert the vial and withdraw the medication.

Remove the needle from the vial. Recap the needle and replace with a new, ½ inch needle.

With the needle pointing toward the ceiling, flick the side of the syringe to disperse the air bubbles and the air pocket at the top of the syringe, then gently push the plunger to eliminate any air until you expel one or two drops of liquid from the tip of the needle.
